Madhuri Dixit, in a casting coup of sorts, has been roped in to play the Lucknowi Begum Para inAbhishek Chaubey’s upcoming film Dedh Ishqiya. Madhuri joins the cast from the first film, veteran Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi, and is joined by the lovely Huma Qureshi.
Dedh Ishqiya is slated for a 10 January release, and Madhuri and co have begun promoting the film in earnest. Over the weekend, Madhuri and Huma were seen on sets of popular reality TV show, Bigg Boss, with Salman Khan.
This time around, Madhuri Dixit and Huma Qureshi made a royal entry on yet another reality show – a dance reality show at that – Dance India Dance. Madhuri Dixit looked graceful and as beautiful as a dream, in a stunning red and blue anarkali, with heavy embroidery. Huma, on her part, ensured she didn’t steal the limelight away from the ever-graceful Madhuri, in a sober blue salwar-kameez.
The beautiful ladies ensured their appearance on the show was a treat for sore eyes, as they took to the stage and performed to the now-superhit song Hamari Attariya from the film.
Madhuri was also meted out the much-deserved royal treatment, as she was showered with rose petals on stage. Madhuri made sure everyone had a beautiful, love-filled time, by being her wonderful, poised self.
Interestingly, of the few events that Dedh Ishqiya has been promoted, it has been only Madhuri and Huma doing all the talking. What we would love to see is the film’s men, Naseeruddin and Arshad, take to the stage and woo their ladies, in true ishq style.
